MannKind founder Alfred E. Mann dies at 90

Alfred E. Mann, a pioneer in the biopharmaceutical industry and founder of MannKind Corp., has died at the age of 90. Mann had recently resigned as chairman of Valencia-based MannKind(Nasdaq: MNKD), the maker of the inhaled insulin drug Afrezza. Mann, who had been chairman since 2001, was replaced with board member and former chairman and CEO of Northrop Grumman Corp., Kent Kresa.
